My therapeutic approach is based on a trauma informed and collaborative lens, building a didactic relationship with my clients. I have extensive training and experience in several forms of psychotherapy, including Self-Compassion Focused Therapy, Brief Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Focused as well as Emotion Focused Therapy.
I completed my Honor’s Bachelor of Arts at The University of Toronto, specializing in Psychology and Criminology. I then completed a post-graduate certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution with Humber College, a certificate in Executive Leadership with George Brown College, and later completed my Master’s of Social Work Degree with The University of Windsor.
I have worked in a number of roles within in the mental health sector, including Central Toronto Youth Services, Children’s Aid Society of Toronto, The Child Welfare Institute, Good 2 Talk, and most recently, I am in a cross-appointed role at The University of Toronto as a Psychotherapist and Sexual Violence Prevention Educator.
My practice is rooted in the foundation of psychotherapy and spirituality. Through embedding principles of self-compassion and self-love, I walk alongside my clients as a guide in their individual journey towards healing. I have supported individuals with various concerns such as: anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship and life challenges, spirituality and culture, eating disorders, addictive behaviours and stress/burnout related issues. I strive to help cultivate a strong therapeutic rapport with my clients by being present with them in moments of overwhelm, validating their lived experience with compassion and warmth. My scope of practice is rooted in an anti-racist, inclusive, equity and anti-oppression framework that sees the client as the expert in their own lives.
I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
