I have completed both my undergraduate degree in psychology and masters of social work from the University of Toronto, specializing in mental health and addictions. I have worked as a mental health and addictions therapist at the center for addiction & mental health (CAMH) for the past 6 years and am currently working as a mental health therapist at the University of Toronto.

Over the years I have worked with a diverse clientele within a multitude of clinical inpatient and outpatient settings. My extensive experience has enabled me to provide individual and group counseling to individuals suffering from mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, borderline personality disorder, coupled with co-occurring substance use issues. Additionally, I also provide support for loved ones on how to sustain healthy relationships and manage life stressors.

I strongly favor an integrative, trauma-informed, client-centered approach to create a healthy alliance with clients and their loved ones.

In addition to providing psychotherapy, I hold the position of an adjunct lecturer for the University of Toronto, Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. I have also founded the Canadian Muslim Addiction Association and provide educational workshops on substance abuse and addictive behaviors in the community.

I provide faith-based therapy for clients who identify as Muslim and provide services in English, Hindi and Urdu.

I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
