Over the past 10+ years in the field, I have worked with children, youth and adults in community, legal, child protection, corporate and university settings. Over time, I have focused my practice on supporting survivors of violence along their healing journeys (including gender-based, domestic, intimate partner, sexual, family, community violence). Currently, I am the sexual violence prevention & response coordinator for the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM). I have extensive experience working with Muslim communities in both Canada and the USA, as well as Islamabad and Zanzibar.

I take an integrative approach that considers individual, family and community. As a first-generation Pakistani-Canadian, I provide the support that both bridges and illuminates the realities of intergenerational individuals/families and their struggles. Topics that are often taboo in racialized and faith-based communities are discussed freely in this space.

I believe in the resiliency of individuals; my practice aims to highlight and guide that self-sufficiency through storytelling, mindfulness and the arts. My therapeutic approach is always compassionate, client-centered, non-judgmental, anti-oppressive and anti-racist. Please share any accessibility needs and/or your preferred pronouns when emailing me.

I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
