Psychotherapist
Being able to confront the things that have been bothering you takes courage and bravery. During the course of psychotherapy, I aim to gently guide you through the process of exploring parts of yourself in order to gain insight and make changes in your life. I feel immensely humbled by the trust I am awarded each time a person shares their story, and so privileged to play a role in your path of self-discovery.
I am a registered clinical social worker offering counselling to adolescents, adults and families. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and client-centered. I utilize a combination of therapeutic techniques including cognitive and dialectical behavioral, solutions-focused, and narrative therapy along with other interventions tailored to your needs. As each therapeutic process is unique, I believe working collaboratively to set goals and expectations is essential for growth and healing to take place.
I obtained my Bachelor and Masters of Social Work at Ryerson and York University, respectively. I have extensive experience in crisis and suicide intervention, case management, and counselling for individuals dealing with a variety of mental illnesses, concurrent disorders and substance-dependence issues. As a clinical social worker at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, I currently provide intensive case management support and cognitive behavioral therapy to individuals with schizophrenia.
I can also provide services in Dari and Hindi.
I am a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
